Every vehicle purchased through our Fleet programme includes DriverAssist, powered by Bidvest Club McCarthy. This includes roadside assistance as well as emergency medical assistance - nationwide.

With DriverAssist you will always have a single point of contact for your road emergencies. Our call centre is manned 24 hours a day, seven days a week and our staff are trained to provide prompt and professional assistance in an emergency. No matter where you are in the country, we will to your stranded vehicle within half an hour and deliver professional assistance.

That allows you, the Fleet Manager, to focus more important tasks, secure in the knowledge that your drivers and vehicles have access to professional assistance.

Our emergency assistance programme gives you Roadside or Medical emergency assistance - 24/7/365! Simply contact our call centre and professional assistance will be provided.

Emergency Roadside Assistance

Break down anywhere in the country and a phone call will summon our expert recovery vehicles to get you back on the road. If your vehicle requires more extensive repairs, we will tow it to the nearest Bidvest McCarthy dealership/service centre.

If it breaks down in an isolated area, we can also arrange to store it safely overnight. Thus you enjoy peace of mind, knowing your vehicles and drivers are safe and sound, and will be back on the road in the shortest possible time.

You are covered 24 hours a day, in the event of the following occurring within the borders of the RSA:

•    Flat battery? We’ll jump-start you.
We’ll arrange and pay to have your vehicle started. If a replacement battery is needed, we’ll cover the cost for your vehicle to be towed, subject to T’s & C’s.
•    Flat tyre? We’ll change it.
We’ll arrange and pay to have your spare tyre put onto your vehicle. If the vehicle’s tyre cannot be replaced, we will then arrange a tow in service, subject to T’s & C’s.
•    Out of fuel? Help is on the way.
Our assistance partners will come to you with 10 litres of fuel (fuel cost will be for your account). Please note, we are not responsible if the incorrect fuel type is put into your vehicle.
•    Keys locked inside your car? We’ll get them out.
We will arrange and pay for a locksmith to open your vehicle, wherever possible. If the keys can’t be retrieved from your car, the towing cost is for your account. T’s & C’s apply.
•    Broken down? We’ll tow you in.
We will arrange and pay for your vehicle to be towed to the nearest McCarthy dealership or approved RMI repairer in the event of an electrical or mechanical breakdown.

In the event of a breakdown more than 100 km from your normal place of work, Fleet members have the following additional benefits available only if the towing is arranged via the Bidvest Club McCarthy call centre:

Emergency Car Hire / Overnight Accommodation
Where a breakdown has occurred resulting in an overnight delay, we will arrange and refund the member on receipt of the invoice up to the amount specified in the benefits table towards:

•    Overnight accommodation for driver and occupants (maximum of 5 persons) or
•    24-hour car rental (valid driver’s license and credit card required).

Been in an accident? We’ll arrange to tow your vehicle.
This service is only offered in the event that your vehicle is not driveable and not covered for this cost under a short-term insurance policy. At the time of the call for assistance, members with short-term insurance cover will be transferred to their relevant insurer or broker for assistance at their own expense.

Courtesy Transport
Where a vehicle needs to be towed to a repairer and the incident has occurred within 100 kilometres of your residence, we will arrange transport. You must pay the cost upfront and may then claim back the cost. T’s & C’s apply.

Vehicle Storage
If necessary due to an overnight delay, we will see your vehicle is safely stored (subject to limitations).

Vehicle Recovery
We will arrange to collect the vehicle and return it to your normal place of residence after the repair has been affected (subject to limitations).
